This was a very cold night in the swamp. Our objective was to do a canoe trip to explore up river before sunset. After sunset we took off on a night expedition along a private hunting area were tree stands could be seen from the fire road. The theory was that if an abundance of wildlife was in the area, the Bigfoot would be also. Not much went on that night but we did have some good corn on the cob around the campfire.
We thought we were OK by going out to the area on a Sunday night. We did not know that the following day was a National Holiday (MLK). It is ALWAYS best to avoid weekends and holidays when you are in SWIFMUD areas in the prospect of others being there is real. Play the odds.
Again another very cold night. A campfire was needed badly. Our objective was to search along a river at night where a pig kill had been found a couple weeks ago. Trial cam deployment had confirmed the presence of wildlife in the area. A tremendous amount of deer were headed each morning away from a lake we had spotted. We felt this area had a perfect eco-system to support a family of Skunk Apes.
A strange thing did happen down by the lake. We found what looked like an old grave. It had the name "Henry Bear" on it. Was that an old homesteader? No idea. A commenter (tyring to be cute by claiming he had found this area also) said it was a pet bear. I think this guy needs to go back to Shawn's sight. Breaking balls is what they do there.
